Lakes Entrance Main Beach

Lakes Entrance Main Beach is located on the Ninety Mile beach, four hours east of Melbourne.

The Main Beach at Lakes Entrance looks out over the blue waters of Bass Strait. Patrolled by trained volunteer Surf Life Savers, the Main Beach's location opposite the township makes it an ideal beach for family activities.

Stretching from the Entrance in the West, the beach extends East to a headland known as the Red Bluff, taking in Eastern Beach and Lake Bunga and then onto Lake Tyers. There's plenty of room for; swimming, surfing, fishing, beach games, kite flying and long walks.

Golden sand dunes and Cunningham Arm divide the township of Lakes Entrance from the Main Beach. Spanning the lake is a Footbridge, the lake is ideal for water sports, kayaking, fishing or a ride on the paddleboats.

Access to Main Beach is via the Footbridge, making it ideal for wheelchair access. There is a kiosk underneath the surf club serving refreshments during summer months.

The Main Beach is patrolled by volunteer Surf Life Savers and professional lifeguards during the summer months.
